Career coaching clients want work to feel better
Usually we think this means changing jobs. I get the appeal of changing jobs – sometimes it’s good for us. But let’s be real: sometimes it’s hard.
The good news is that you decide what experience you’re having at work. Read it again.
But what if my boss is the biggest jerk alive?
That is tough. AND does the fact that your boss is a jerk need to take over your experience of work?
Maybe your boss is a jerk, but let’s widen the lens. What if the pay and commute and colleagues and content and company and impact and growth opportunities are all solid? In that case, you may be able to manage your distaste for what’s bad by refocusing your attention – and moving gently toward – what’s good.
What’s good
What’s good at work?
What’s working?
What happened today that made you smile?
What thing surprised you in a good way recently?
What do you look forward to?
What could you feel proud of?
What have you been taking for granted?
What did you used to like about this job?
What’s the best case scenario for you here?
This is what a soft launch looks like
It’s soft because it’s gentle. It’s a launch because something changes. It could be a small change, a reframe. In astrology, every planetary movement basically holds the same message: just be you.
If you’re already doing that, do it even more.
If you’re not doing it, start.
Astrology as a system is as old as human empathy. To study it is to remember myth and magic. Whatever “you” are and whatever journey you’re on, good is good. Identifying what’s good, and moving toward it, makes sense in Astrology and it makes sense at work, and in life. What you think is “good” is unique to you anyway. What if you trusted it?
Maybe this year is a bold launch for you. I love that. If you need coaching support, get in touch below. Or maybe you’re worried that nothing at all is launching this year – and that in a year or two, you’ll be exactly where you are, growing moss. Coaching can help with that too.
“You’ve got brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose….” I used to have this entire Dr. Seuss book memorized. Note to self: must get that one out again.
That’s a soft launch. A simple intention, with a little juice. Steer yourself toward the good.
I’m cheering you on.
